Hello! I’m Lawrence, a dedicated high school student and the Finance Manager at Young Hearts and Old Souls, we are here to bridging the generational gap between the young and the elderly in our community. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the isolation many seniors face, and the untapped wealth of wisdom they have to offer. This inspired me to use my position to not only manage our finances but also to ensure we maximize every opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

In my role as Finances, I am responsible for managing our resources to ensure they are used in the most impactful way. I liaise with donors and other non-profit organizations, establishing vital connections that help us thrive and expand our reach. My tasks involve oversight of our budget, ensuring that we have the funds necessary to organize events and activities that bring our two generations together. I also oversee the procurement of materials needed for our various programs, from arts and crafts supplies for joint creative projects to technology that helps our elderly engage more with modern tools, thus fostering better connectivity and engagement.

Joining Young Hearts and Old Souls has been a transformative experience. It has not only honed my skills in financial management and strategic planning but has also deepened my understanding of the profound impact we can make in people’s lives. The smiles I see during our events, where young and old learn from each other, have shown me the tangible results of our committed efforts. Looking ahead, I am eager to explore new and innovative ways to enhance our programs and extend our reach. I believe that through our work, we can continue to knit the fabric of our community tighter, ensuring that every heart, young or old, feels valued and connected.
